Assalamualaikum and
happy everyday (you don't need a particular day to be happy, right?) I wish to
all of you~~ Few days back, I've attended a wonderful forum that managed to
make me question what am I doing all this while and at the same time, made me
want to delve more into fields related to creative and mass media. Here are the
prominent figures that presented on that day:

and the presenters
are only given 5 minutes on stage to share whatever they want with the audience
so, you can imagine how intense the pace of this forum is, don't you? Add to
that two keynote address, two performance and two dialogue (QnA) session and
your nine hours just flew by unnoticed but those nine hours were well spent,
insya-ALLAH....
Participant interacting with the speakers during dialogue session |
Booths opened for business and creative opportunities and consultation |
Participiants also had the chance to meet the speakers up close and personal |
Slam poetry performance prior to keynote address |
In an attempt to summerise as much
points as possible given in all session by all speech, presentation and
performance, I will list the topics and respective points to assist you in
sharing and spreading the knowledge and experience I earned. Here goes...
Heart, Mind and
Soul
1.
Even if
you are in state of hopelessness, you can still give hope to others.
2.
During
Hijrah, Rasulullah P.B.U.H. left Makkah as a man but returns as a nation.
Therefore, if you are alone at the beginning keep on fighting as chances are,
people will see your potential and support you.
3.
Never
allow pride to enter your heart.
4.
Typical
human only have awareness before birth and after death while they went astray
during their lifetime so, try to stick to the 'straight path'.
5.
It
takes time to know oneself so, don't push yourself to hard.
6.
Less
questioning, more encouraging.
7.
See
your ibadah differently (example: Solat as exercise, hajj as picnic, fasting as
diet) to give it fresh feeling.
8.
We are
ought to spend more time being a 'being' (creature) than being a 'doing'
(position/profession). We are too busy with our career that we forgot we are
just a MAN that does things.
9.
Art is
not an alternate reality but it points to subtle reality with an emotional
impact.
Resource
1.
It is
hard at first to find financial resource so, just start small and move
gradually to next step.
2.
In
indiepreneurship, market for Islamic products is still gaping wide.
3.
Explore
new grounds for products and rebrand. Most products will look and be fresher
after Islamic Influence is integrated into it.
4.
Spent
some time enjoying art and the art itself will unconciously reflected into your
work.
Professionalism
1.
Competitiveness
should lead to productivity, not envy or bragging rights.
2.
Only a
heart can listen what other heart speaks so, do your job from your heart.
3.
Be
curious with your surroundings.
4.
Remeber
how diversified we are although mass media always potray Muslims as jumud.
5.
Collaboration
is greater than competition.
6.
Putting
yourself in greater pressure than your real current state can boost your
performance if done correctly.
Therefore, I hope these can be light
that pierces through our personal darkness as we are traversing the
"Creativity and Spiritual Path". Before we part, bear in mind that
how can ALLAH be The Creator (Khaliq) without He Himself being creative? And
how can we as His Creation (makhluq) be created without creativity been put
into us? A companion of Rasulullah P.B.U.H. asked on how can he know God and
our Messenger gave an answer that was summerised by Yahya bin Umar r.a. into a
famous quote amongst people who learns tauheed ; "When a man knows
oneself, he will know his God". Assalamualaikum and may you have a good
day.
